SUCCESS IN THE COURT

Ryan Harrington recently obtained a favorable result for our client in a week long trial in the Cook County District Court. Ryan represented a plaintiff who was attacked by a guard dog at a Chicago O'Hare Parking Facility. The plaintiff claimed significant medical bills, wage loss and permanent impairment. The jury deliberated approximately two days and found that the defendant was negligent and awarded damages of $350,000.

Alan Lechowicz recently obtained a favorable result for a client relating to abatement of late filing and late payment penalties associated with the filing of Federal and Illinois Income Tax Returns. A client was delinquent in the filing of several years of income tax returns due to the death of a family member and variety of medical and health issues affecting the taxpayer. Alan successfully argued with the IRS and the Illinois Department of Revenue that the delinquent filing of the tax returns was a result of reasonable cause and recovered approximately $90,000 in penalties.
